Description

Gran Paradiso National Park Hiking

The Gran Paradiso National Park Hiking is set in Cogne valley which is widely considered the most beautiful valley of the most beautiful national Park of Italy: the Gran Paradiso National Park. Hiking in Gran Paradiso is a dream for outdoor enthusiasts all alround the world and one of the must-do trekking in Italy. Gran Paradiso National Park Hiking is a perfect experience for all kind of trekkers: air is pure and colors here are vivid and strong. Green meadows, big ice mass and blue sky are part of the wonderful landscape in the north west corner of Italy. We organize trekking in Gran Paradiso all year long.

Gran Paradiso National Park is the refuge of the ibex, a beautiful wild goat with huge horns that was extinct all over the Alps in the 19th century except in this that will be the Gran Paradiso National Park area. The King Vittorio Emanuele made it hunting reserve and save the ibex and the wildlife. In the 1920 he gave it to the Italian state and the area became the first national park of Italy. Gran Paradiso National Park is still the widest national reserve of the Italian Alps and the whole Italy. The most exciting moment of the trekking in Gran Paradiso is maybe climbing of Punta Rossa(3630m) during the third day even though every day have fantastic spot, amazing scenery and breathtaking perspectives. The Gran Paradiso hiking area is well known compared with the other Trekking Alps trekking and that is why there will be more people here than in most of the other hiking holidays offered in this website.

Wild animals in this Gran Paradiso National Park Hiking are very common and it is a trekking most suitable for willing children to experience the natural world at its best. Last but not least Cogne is a famous spot for enjoying very excellent mountain food: polenta, hams and a special rice and cheese dish which you most probably never forget.

As two of the nights are planned in an unguarded hut which is not possible to book, the central weeks of August are not considered to be a good period for this hike. The itinerary here described is only one of the many trekking in Gran Paradiso which is possible to experience. We will plan the Gran Paradiso National Park hiking, according to your interests and needs!

Reviews for this Hike

    Overnight Hike in Gran Paradiso
Trekking Alps is the best service for any guided hike or tour of the Italian Alps. It started with Roberto's prompt and attentive email responses. He accommodated our dates and times and helped us choose the best type of hike for us. Before we left the States for Europe all the major details had been discussed and we knew exactly what we needed to bring with us. Trekking Alps guide Enrico pick us up from our Turin hotel, let us rent his own packs and sleeping bags, helped us purchase local meats and cheeses for the hike, planned the route, and rented the hut for us. Enrico's English is perfect, and his knowledge of all things Italy, Alps, and hiking is even better. We learned so much from him. With Enrico we hike through small abandoned villages, crossed avalanche drifts, did some night hiking, and saw incredible views of nature. I highly recommend Enrico and Trekking Alps. If you love nature and want to experience something most tourists never do, then this is the best way to do it. Just be honest about your hiking experience and level and Trekking Alps will tailor a hike just for you.

    Punta Rossa – Great Trek!!
My hike/trek through the Gran Paradiso National Park with Roberto was amazing! Roberto helps to bring people together who enjoy the wilderness but also have similar treks in mind. I am travelling solo and was joined by 2 couple's and 3 other solo travellers on our 4 day hike. For me, even with the various fitness levels of the group there was still a challenge, for example one of my highlights, waking up before sunrise at the Sogno di Berdzè Rifugio. 3 of our party was interested and did this as an extra challenge. Also the final Punta Rossa peak where we saw Mt Blanc & The Matterhorn was a challenge that 4 out of the 8 completed. At this point I believe the others were happy with their sleepin! Roberto has a great knowledge of the area, introducing us to foods from the Alps which you'll never taste elsewhere and was extremely valuable as an introduction to how to negotiate the Italian Alps. For myself as a child I've climbed mountains in NZ but to join a small group like this and get away from the extremely touristic areas was great. Roberto explained well how the local Rifugio and Bivacco cabins work and has offered to help me plan a trip for myself in the future. All in all, this was an amazing experience. I've made friends from around the world and stood on a challenging mountain top without the crowds of other spots. I thank you for your time and knowledge Roberto. Best wishes for the future, and I'll see you on the mountains again.

    Great Trekking in the Alps
I have done 3 guided hikes with Roberto over the last few months. We went to Rocciamelone, Gran Paradiso and Monteviso in the Italian Alps. Roberto was a fantastic guide. Helpful, knowledgeable and above all fun. Whatever your ability or fitness he will design or suggest the hike best for you. I cannot recommend him enough. They were fantastic days in the mountains.

    Wonderful hiking experience
A dream come true. The 4 day hiking/trekking trip in Gran Paradiso national park hiking included a lot of nature nature, huts and "refugios" to sleep in, surrounded by rocks and snowy mountains, sunsets and sunrises, hiking, beautiful scenery and great company. Roberto, the tour guide is very nice knowledgable and funny, and made sure everyone had a great time. I had never been on an organised hiking tour and had little hiking experience. As the only solo traveller in the group, I felt warmly welcomed as if I was part of a family during the trip. This trip exceeded my expectations. Highly recommended if you like mountains, hiking, Italians, Italian food, the Alps and great company. I wouldn't think twice to go again!

Superb guided hiking in the Italian alps
I had a really fantastic experience hiking with my husband and 15 year old daughter. We went on two tours, one for 4 days in Grand Paradiso and the second trip was for 3 days in Monviso. We encountered beautiful and sometimes dramatic mountain scenery along the way, went swimming in a mountain lake and enjoyed really great company in our small group of people. Roberto provided expert guidance, he loves the mountains and knows this region like his back pocket, it was wonderful to meet him.

Breathtaking and tough trek. 100% recommend
Roberto is a professional. He had a number of routes planned out that we could take, and left it up to us to decide where we wanted to go, what we wanted to see, and what experience we wanted. He was able to cater to any taste. We spent 4 days hiking and slept 3 nights in unguarded huts (Bivacs). The days were long and parts were tough but it was still one of the best experiences I've ever had. The views, the mountain water, the air, everything. It was the best type of holiday to forget your busy life and enjoy the moment. I can't recommend Roberto enough. He knows the area so well and it's true when he says it's "paradise".
