The route can be adapted to 3, 4 or 5 days to complete, following a loop that links a network of mountain refuges and bivouacs, allowing hikers to travel light while still spending nights in the heart of the mountains. Along the way, you’ll encounter crystal-clear lakes, glacial valleys, and lots of ibex and wildlife. Wildlife sightings are common — ibex, marmots, and golden eagles can often be spotted.

It is incredible to think that cousins like French and Italians were fighting in the extreme conditions of the mountains up there. This trekking has a strong historical soul as this area is been always part of history. We will be able to visit the Roman city of Susa which was the main city of the area during the Roman Empire, the beautiful Exilles fort and we will cross the Thullie Hole, a unique and amazing tunnel made by one man in the XV century. The tunnel is almost 600m long and Colombano Romean caved it with a pickaxe in 7 long years in order to let the water cross the mountain. This water still feeds several communities and villages near Chiomonte. Even for people not particularly interested in history, the trekking is very beautiful. The Alps here are fabulous and there is a lot of wildlife. The area of the hike, located pretty near Turin, has amazing spots and fantastic landscapes.

We will sleep for one night in an unguarded hut and the rest of the nights on the refuges but is possible to re-arrange the accommodation of this beautiful hike in Susa Valley depening on your wishes. During the trekking in Susa Valley, we will have magnificent views of Rocciamelone and we will climb the Giusalet (3313m) Peak.
