Mont Blanc Mountain Hiking Area

the most dramatic views with its amazing glaciers and high altitude rock walls at high altitude

Monte Bianco (Mont Blanc in french) is the highest peak of the Alps. Mont Blanc Hiking Area probably offers the most dramatic views with its amazing glaciers and high altitude rock walls at high altitude. Here all the mountaineer of Europe and not only, come to challenge their self in the most difficult and huge mountain of the Alps. For this reason Courmayeur and Chamonix, the main towns below the Monte Bianco, are pretty crowded compared with other areas of the Alps.

The Tour of Mont Blanc is among the most popular and famous route of the world due to its natural mountain beauty. Mont Blanc Mountain is a must see for every alpinist of the World. On the other hand, in the high season is reccomended to not follow this route if you want to live the mountain in an autenthic way, with the Trekking Alps spirit. The Monte Bianco Mountain Hiking Area is certainly pretty famous and it is at its best off-season (not in Christmas holiday and in August) and it is not the right area if you want to avoid people and live an experience in solitude your trekking. Especially in Winter and in Summer these mountain areas of the Alps areas are pretty crowded.

Nevertheless Monte Bianco certainly worths the visit and if you have the chance to come hiking in a Spring or Autumn you’ll enjoy the places aroud the highest peak of the Alps with less people and more wildife.

Geography

The Mont Blanc Mountain Hiking Area is one of the more rich in terms of ice formations all over the Alps. For the Monte Rosa peaks and Matterhorn we are at the border of Italy and Switzerland and all the most famous peaks of the Alps are here. Mont Blanc intead is at the top north west border of Italy and the peak is shared with France. The paths are pretty well marked and in the Hikes described in this Trekking Alps website you’ll find also trekking in Valpelline and other smaller valleys, less known and maybe even more enjoyable for Trekking and Mountain Hiking. The Mont Blanc Mountain Hiking Area is north-west from Torino and the trip to this mountain area is from 1 hour and 30 minutes to 2 hours.

Wildlife

Wildlife in Mont Blanc Mountain Hiking Area is been moving away pretty much from this area as a lot of people are living their mountain holidays here. There is less space in the mountains for the animals than in other places and hiking areas of the Alps. Nevertheless all the typical alpine animals can be spotted but not so easily: Ibex, the Chamois, the Marmot, the Fox and the Eagle. The area is full of cable cars used also in summer for tourists and downhill bikers.

Accommodation

The Monte Bianco Hiking Area has the accomodation a bit more expensive than the other areas. This is due to the famous Monte Bianco peak and its facilities.  Here trekkers will share the mountain environments with mountaineers and with tourists. You can have a few days hike in hotel, with your private bathroom and shower every day or you can choose the unguarded huts that in this area are very comfortable and luxury. Shelter are a bit more expensive but there is a big choice and we’ll bring you where the service is good and the food is tasty and abundant.

Monte Bianco Area Testimonials

    Fantastic three days with Roberto
My brother and I had a fantastic three days hiking with Roberto. We stayed at the lovely Gran Paradiso B&B in Jovencan and went hiking each day in the beautiful Valle d'Aosta. We managed to pack in a lot, sight seeing, views of the mountains and close encounters with the wild life. Roberto has enormous experience as a guide and boundless enthusiasm for nature. (He was also very helpful when it came to changing hotels in Turin at the last minute! We can't thank him enough for this.) Brilliant trip. Will definitely be going back.

Highlight of our trip! Can’t wait to come back to the Alps
We LOVED the two days spent with Roberto! He took us to the most beautiful hiking locations and was very flexible and knew the area well, so when it started raining and being overcast he still knew the best places to take us. Such a wonderful experience.

    3 day hike in Aosta
Accommodations were great and our guide was an expert in the area. He was able to provide a hike that was suitable for our capabilities. Friendly, fun...would recommend this company to anyone!!

    Great Hiking in The Alps!!!
Irina (gf) and I hiked with the fantastic guide Enrico for a few days! I think just about anyone would enjoy Enrico. He is a really good hiker, and knows the areas well. He lets you set the pace of the adventure while making suggestions, and he also has lots of interesting things to talk about on a variety of subjects, including local information.I wouldn't say it was a "must-see" experience, but the hiking, cheese, wine, hut, and overall alps experience was very awesome. I enjoyed this much more than for just the visuals. Mt Blanc is probably the superior visual, which can be looked up on google images, but this was the superior experience. The food was absolutely amazing. Hiking was amazing. Paragliding was amazing. ALPS = AMAZING. ENRICO = SUPER AMAZINGWord to the wise, the hiking was unlike any American hiking I've ever done. I do most of my hiking in tennis shoes or flip flops, even if it's a big 10 mile approach to a rock climbing destination. You can't get away with that on these types of trails. It's just a different type of hiking - more technical for sure. Proper grip shoes and hiking poles strongly recommended. I'm glad I heeded Enrico's advice and brought proper hiking shoes.

    Aosta Valley Winter Hikes
Trekking Alps is a very good service for hiking in the Italian Alps. Roberto was amazingly helpful in providing us with prompt replies to emails. He organized two incredibly beautiful hikes in the Aosta valley. The weather was perfect and we had a lot of fun. I would definitely recommend Roberto to anyone looking to hike in the Italian Alps!

    Fantastic Amenity Trek
A must visit if you are in Italy. My friend and I went on this trek during 00-aosta-valley-trek-03673the end of October and must say the colors of autumn were extraordinary. Roberto is an excellent guide who knows his stuff. After half way, the path of our trek became difficult and Roberto gave a motivational speech to not stop until the end (which was not possible by me and had to take a couple of short breaks in between). When we finally reached the destination the view was breathtaking and we were accompanied by 4 other locals who were on a vacation. The best part was they were as young as 65 years old (2 and a half times my age) which made me look like a 100 year old man. At night Roberto cooked us dinner and we played cards in an old hut on top of the mountains. Overall is was an amazing experience I would definitely go for another trek with Roberto in the near future. Thank you Roberto.
