in the wonderful and unique landscapes of the north of Piedmont. There are several options including a night in bed and breakfast or the extension to a three or more days hike in this wonderful area. In particular, the hike will be taken in the National Park of Val Grande. This is the biggest area of wilderness in Italy and has a lot to discover. The Val Grande National Park has not very high mountains (no more than 2300 meters) but has wonderful landscapes over the Lake Maggiore(Lago Maggiore in Italian) and over the Swiss and Italian Alps to the west. This Lake Maggiore Hiking Tour is a mix of Mountain and Seaside environment with the huge Lake Maggiore always visible. The accommodation in the park is pretty rough and we’ll need to bring with us the mattresses as the unguarded huts do not provide them. Nevertheless, the structures are pretty new and it really worth the night in the middle of this National Park which is, together with Gran Paradiso, the only one in Piedmont. The hike itself is not particularly difficult but it can be changed and adapted to many other different features. After the hike, we’ll be back to the civilization and we can go to visit the Maggiore Lake where we will sleep one night in a bed and breakfast.

The last day we can decide either to make a more cultural visit of the beauty of Maggiore Lake or we can go hiking in the surrounding area. Another option is to take the cable car to Mombarone, a nice peak in between the Lake Maggiore and the Orta Lake. In summer is also possible to have a swim in this beautiful pearl of the Italian Alps and of Piedmont. Mottarone can be reached either walking or via cable car with a very nice view over the Lake Maggiore and Orta Lake.
