a combination of great outdoor activities, requiring participants to utilize a variety of disciplines. You will be abseiling, scrambling, hiking, and climbing along the limestone cliffs and caves, no easy feat and one that is definitely fulfilling to complete successfully. The Selvaggio Blu Trek is often referred to as Italy’s hardest trek and is located about halfway up Sardinia’s east coast in the island’s Baunei region. It follows the wild coastline of the Gulf of Orosei. Parts of this trek are technical and demanding involving some short stretches of rock climbing and abseiling. Whilst the Selvaggio Blu Trek is undoubtable technical it does pass through some stunning scenery. This ranges from narrow footpaths that lead over undulating trails along the edge of sea cliffs, to the old tracks of goatherds and charcoal burners, and hidden beaches between vast cliffs of limestone. The trail passes through one of the last true wildernesses of the Mediterranean where there are no roads or habitations. The full trail takes normally 5/6 days to complete.

Selvaggio blu wild hike: the hardest and most beautiful hike of Europe!

DAY 1 Pedra Longa - Porto Pedrosu

First day of walk from stunning Pedra longa, across Punta Giradili and down for a swim in Porto Pedrosu, dinner and outdoor overnight

DAY 2 Porto Pedrosu - Cala Goloritze

Shorter section of trail with some scrambling, we will reach Punta Salinas, amazing spot for a view on Cala Goloritze. We will camp nearby but is possible to walk down to the beach to have a swim and get back for diner and outdoor overnight.

DAY 3 Cala Goloritzé – Bacu Mudaloru

One of the toughest and most beautiful stages! We will go up the Boladina canyon with an easy climb and then we will do a short and stunning via ferrata. Through high altitude trails, dizzying hairpin bends and spectacular passages under caves rich in concretions, we will go along the Bacu Mudaloru until we reach its charming cove. Here we’ll go for a swim and we’ll camp overnight.

DAY 4 Bacu Mudaloru – Cala Biriola

Skirting Baku Mudaloru on its left bank, we will get to the plateau near Ololbizzi. Then, skirting Serra Ovara from the sea side, we will get to Sa Nurca. Hence, three abseiling descents lead first to the great forest of Biriola and then to the beautiful beach of the same name. Swim, dinner and camp.

DAY 5 Cala Biriola – Cala Sisine

We continue through the bush of Biriola and Orronnoro and then tackle the rocky ramparts blocking the access to Cala Sisine through ledges and climbs (10 m – IV inf.). From here it won’t take long to reach Cala Sisine. From there transfer to the parking with 4x4 or boat.
