Milan is only one hour away by train and is very convenient to come to Turin for the day. You can have a look and decide the mood of the hike that you prefer: for example more challenging, more cultural or food oriented. In any case, the best option is to contact us and we will organize the more suitable trek from Milan possible. If you have a Car and you want to do a day hike from Milan it is also possible to move to Aosta Valley with costs and we would meet in Ivrea. Again the best is to contact us and we will sort it out the best options for your specific needs.

TRANSPORTATION:

In order to do the Day Trek from Milan, what you need to do is to take a train in the morning from Milan Train station, Milano Centrale (here you can find the timetables), get to Torino Porta Susa and then we will meet in Fermi metro station which is 15 minutes far. For example, right now there is a fast train going at 8.00 AM arriving in Torino Porta Susa at 8.48 and you can be at Fermi at 9 AM. At 10 AM we can be already in the wonderful Alps nature! The first mountains from Fermi are just 30 minutes away, so even for a single day it definitively worth to come to visit it. If you have a car you can also think of visiting Aosta Valley. We'll meet at Ivrea. In the case of Lake Maggiore Area just contact us and we'll agree the best spot where to meet.

    Excellent one-day trek with Enrico!
    Extremely happy with my Trekking Alps experience!!! Booked one-day trek with Enrico and initial communication before I arrived in Italy was excellent. Enrico did a great job of understanding my athletic ability, explaining the equipment needed and coordinating a pick up point. On the day, he picked me and another couple up from our hotels in Turin and we drove an hour north of Turin to a small village called Viu. There we bought food for our break- Enrico translated for us in the butcher shop and we got some lovely venison sausage and cheeses made in the village as well as bread. Then we drove about another 15 minutes up the mountain and started off on the hike. At first the walk was easy on a gravel path but after about one mile, the fun kicked in and we started up the steep gradient. Enrico did a very impressive job of guiding us as well as explaining the geography, local flora and fauna and thoroughly answering every question we had. The scenery was breathtaking throughout: waterfalls, valleys, views of adjacent ranges and lakes. Although the hike was extremely challenging (and I consider myself to be pretty fit), it was exhilarating and a once in a lifetime experience. Worth every penny. Enrico's knowledge of the terrain combined with his contagious passion for nature and easy going manner made the trip that much more enjoyable. After our descent and ride back to Viu, Enrico introduced me to a local Piedmonte liquor called Genepy Granger as I'd asked him for a recommendation for a good grappa. It was super strong and very good! All in all, a very enjoyable day. If you're thinking of booking a hike in the Piedmonte region, I would not hesitate to recommend Trekking-Alps.
