Green Lakes Weekend Wild Tour

The Green Lakes are among the most spectacular lakes we have in the western Alps. They are blessed because we can sleep in a nearby hut and moreover they are not so far to reach. Nevertheless, if you imagine a big crowded place you are wrong. Green Lakes for the most part of the year is not trekked by anyone. That means that we can enjoy their beauty by ourselves. Hiking in Lanzo valleys is perfect for both adults and children, we will sleep in bivouac Gandolfo (2301m), just in front of Green Lakes, where the fearless can have a refreshing swim. This trekking is perfect for approaching the mountain environment as the walk is easy and not too long.

This hiking crosses a beautiful pine forest in a wild mountain settings. Lanzo valley is a paradise of wilderness. Try the amazing experience of sleeping in an unguarded hut(bivouac). On the second day, it is possible to make another walk to reach the nearby peak or just enjoying the wonderful green lakes near the unguarded hut. Green Lakes short hiking is a really nice trek for beginners and can be extended for the most experienced hikers. The Green Lakes, as you can see from the pictures are absolutely stunning all year long. This trekking cannot be performed in winter or in another season than summer as the unguarded hut is fully covered by snow. You can ask though about the snow situation. Sometimes till December the bolds can sleep there and from May the hut can be free from the snow, and a hike till the Green Lakes is possible.

Reviews for this Hike

    Long weekend hiking from London
I had to organise a long weekend in the mountains for a group of 4 friends. I found Roberto online, and he made the whole thing incredibly easy - we had to meet him in turin with our hiking kit (which he described for us in a list), and he took care of everything else.We had a really great hike - an ascent on the first day to our mountain hut, an an explore on the second day including a dip in a snow-covered lake. Roberto is very pleasant company, and kept everything challenging but within our abilities. We saw marmots, eagles and ibex fighting!A great trip. I would recommend Roberto to anyone

Roberto is without a doubt the best guide you can ask for. My friend and I took a short trip from Milan to Torino where Roberto met us and began our weekend hike. In the short time that we had, we hiked through some seriously gorgeous valleys, crossed through several streams, and thoroughly enjoyed seeing the most clear blue-green lakes. After reaching camp, Roberto made a simple but tasty meal of tortellini, perfect for taking the chill off. Got a bit of down time, which you can use to relax or explore a bit more. Next day, we went up a bit higher, as the summit is about 2 hours' hike away. Would highly recommend going upwards, as the views are increasingly (and quite literally) breathtaking from there. Going back down, we came across the third lake, where we stopped for a little to enjoy the extremely cold waters. The hike back was just as beautiful as the hike up, but the most difficult part was leaving.  Highlights: staying in a bivouac under the snow (bring warm clothes and socks!), morning hikes, going for a (very quick) swim in one of the mountain lakes. My singular regret: not being able to stay longer. Hope to be back in the future and hike some more!
