Monte Bianco (Mont Blanc in french) is the highest peak of the Alps. Monte Bianco Hiking Area probably offers the most dramatic views with its amazing glaciers and high altitude rock walls at high altitude. Here all the mountaineer of Europe and not only, come to challenge their self in the most difficult and huge mountain of the Alps. For this reason Courmayeur and Chamonix, the main towns below the Monte Bianco, are pretty crowded compared with other areas of the Alps.
The Tour of Mont Blanc is among the most popular and famous route of the world due to its natural mountain beauty. On the other hand, in the high season is reccomended to not follow this route if you want to live the mountain in an autenthic way, with the Trekking Alps spirit. The Monte Bianco Hiking Area is certainly pretty famous and it is at its best off-season (not in Christmas holiday and in August) and it is not the right area if you want to avoid people and live an experience in solitude your trekking. Especially in Winter and in Summer these mountain areas of the Alps areas are pretty crowded.
Nevertheless Monte Bianco certainly worths the visit and if you have the chance to come hiking in a Spring or Autumn you’ll enjoy the places aroud the highest peak of the Alps with less people and more wildife.
The Monte Bianco Hiking Area is one of the more rich in terms of ice formations all over the Alps. For the Monte Rosa peaks and Matterhorn we are at the border of Italy and Switzerland and all the most famous peaks of the Alps are here. Mont Blanc intead is at the top north west border of Italy and the peak is shared with France. The paths are pretty well marked and in the Hikes described in this Trekking Alps website you’ll find also trekking in Valpelline and other smaller valleys, less known and maybe even more enjoyable for Trekking and Mountain Hiking. The Areas is north-west from Torino and the trip to this mountain area is from 1 hour and 30 minutes to 2 hours.
Wildlife in Monte Bianco Hiking Area is been moving away pretty much from this area as a lot of people are living their mountain holidays here. There is less space in the mountains for the animals than in other places and hiking areas of the Alps. Nevertheless all the typical alpine animals can be spotted but not so easily: Ibex, the Chamois, the Marmot, the Fox and the Eagle. The area is full of cable cars used also in summer for tourists and downhill bikers.
The Monte Bianco Hiking Area has the accomodation a bit more expensive than the other areas. This is due to the famous Monte Bianco peak and its facilities. Here trekkers will share the mountain environments with mountaineers and with tourists. You can have a few days hike in hotel, with your private bathroom and shower every day or you can choose the unguarded huts that in this area are very comfortable and luxury. Shelter are a bit more expensive but there is a big choice and we’ll bring you where the service is good and the food is tasty and abundant.

Monte Bianco Hiking Reviews
“Fantastic Amenity Trek”
A must visit if you are in Italy. My friend and I went on this trek during the end of October and must say the colors of autumn were extraordinary. Roberto is an excellent guide who knows his stuff. After half way, the path of our trek became difficult and Roberto gave a motivational speech to not stop until the end ( which was not possible by me and had to take a couple of short breaks in between). When we finally reached the destination the view was breathtaking and we were accompanied by 4 other locals who were on a vacation. The best part was they were as young as 65 years old (2 and a half times my age) which made me look like a 100 year old man. At night Roberto cooked us dinner and we played cards in an old hut on top of the mountains. Overall is was an amazing experience I would definitely go for another trek with Roberto in the near future. Thank you Roberto.
“Trekking alps is a must do in northern Italy! ”
I had one of the most amazing hikes I have ever done in my life and Roberto took beautiful pictures for me as well! I am so grateful for this company and couldn’t be more satisfied with a trip to the alps. Roberto took care of seriously everything and it couldn’t have been more stress free. Would recommend to anyone and everyone who loves mountains and hiking!!!!!!!
“Experience of a life time!”
“An experience to remember!”
Wow! What an experience. My sister and I contacted Roberto looking for a challenging yet fun and rememberable experience and that is exactly what we got, plus more! Roberto was the perfect guide for this type of activity; fun, adventurous, brilliant and skilled. This was my first time snowshoeing and I felt completely comfortable. He supplied all of the necessary materials for the hike so this made preparation easy and effortless. We hiked for the day and then stayed in a shelter overnight and hiked back the next. The time in the mountains was one I will never forget!
This was an experience of a life time. I will recommended this to everyone! Roberto was the best!
“Absolutely wonderful 3-day Hiking tailored to suit your needs”
I was initially slightly worried about the hike. Friends & family asked if I was crazy to go on a 3-day hike in winter, let alone doing the hike with a complete stranger. After all how prepared would I be – being a girl who has barely done any hikes in asia or trained for the hike at all? I soon realized I had nothing to worry about. Roberto was awesome, and his easy-going personality was a joy to be around. He was very encouraging and he tailored the trip with many day hikes according to my ability and the weather. We were rewarded with a great sunset on the second-evening, as well as great weather on the very last day where we got a stunning view of the peaks within the Gran Paradiso nature reserve. I’d have to say it was money well-spent and I would definitely recommend Roberto to any others who would love to see the Italian alps in this authentic way!
“2 Days with Trekking Alps”
I really enjoyed my experience with Trekking Alps. Roberto was great at communication before the tour and being flexible to fit us into a tour that would match our availability and skill level. The hike was great, we had a great group and the scenery was amazing. We stayed in a hut which was really comfortable and had the most amazing view. I had never been to Turin or the Alps before and now I would highly recommend. On our hike we went to the peak of the mountain and we’re surrounded by stunning views. Roberto was extremely friendly, supportive and professional during our hike and would highly recommend Trekking Alps and I hope to visit again!
“Excellent guide with unbeatable enthusiasm”
We hiked with “Trekking Alps” few times, and very highly recommend Roberto as a guide. He has an enthusiastic and energetic exuberance that makes every hike an enjoyable experience. He can tailor each hike to the abilities of those participating, and has an intimate knowledge of the Alps around Torino. He definitely goes that extra distance to ensure a great time in the mountains and we will certainly go with Roberto on more hikes when we return to the Alps!
“Discover the beauty of our Italian Alps”
Beautiful hike with a young and competent Hiking Guide: we discovered amazing natural places of Italy that all the world envies us! I could not imagine that we had such beautiful places in Italy. Sometimes it seemed to be in Himalaya, sometimes in Tropical forest.
It was pure joy to live the passion for the mountains. A true wild experience traveling in the Alps with Trekking Alps !!!
“Roberto is the best trekking guide in the Alps hands down!”
Roberto went crazy for us planning the best trip we could have possibly imagined around inclement weather. The views we got where truly spectacular and it was an absolutely unparalleled experience. When I told Roberto I would be proposing to my girlfriend on the trip his eyes lit up and I could see right then that he was all in. He gave us a feel for Italian culture and we absolutely appreciated it. Despite his modesty Roberto’s English is very very good. By the time we left it felt like we where leaving a good friend not just a trekking guide. Thanks Roberto you’re the best.
