Organizing a School Trip in the Alps

School Trip in Turin – A Cool Trip!

Part of our team has a special curriculum for school trips. The Alps offer an amazing opportunity for students to experience pristine nature, which is not very common in Europe, where most environments are heavily anthropized.

Turin is perfect for your school trip. It was the first capital of Italy, having a very good selection of great museums. The most important is certainly the Egyptian Museum(second largest in the World), the nice Science Museum and the cinema Museum located in the very spectacular Mole Antonelliana.

You can easily spend in Torino 3/4 days, and then our suggestion is to experience the best part of Turin: the Alps. Sleeping in the local hostel is quite cheap: we recommend this one but you can choose your own. Organizing a school trip in the Alps is our specialty and we can do it in several ways.

When to organize your school trip in the Alps

In general is a great idea to come in Autumn or Spring.

  • In Autumn, it is ideal for the 1st class. In order to create a group that has such a great experience together can be amazing to “break the ice” and create a positive atmosphere in the classroom. You can come with a single class or with multiple classes. We have a good amount of guides and we can also organize big groups.
  • Spring is ideal for school trips and is the most common season. Consider that in the Alps the season is “late”. That means that if you come in March, it is still widely all covered by snow. And it can be a great idea to make the snowshoe experience, which is always amazing for students.

If you want to try snowshoes in your school trip, you are in the right place! Trekking Alps organize snowshoes hike also for school trips from Turin!

Single day or multiple days

If you can come with your own bus, we can organize a day hike experience. The mountains are 1hours an half hours away from Turin, and it’s definitely worth doing day hikes.

You can do a single-day school trip from Turin or two days trip.

Another amazing experience can be doing two or three days up in the mountains. There are several structures that can offer hospitality to big groups in the mountains. Depending on the number of you and the season, we will propose the most suitable solution. But sleeping at 1500/2000meters in spring can be an amazing opportunity to get a bit away from your comfort zone and reconnect with nature. Also, wildlife encounters can be quite easy if you come with a single class, especially in the Spring.

The wildlife in the Alps is spectacular and reconnects the kids with nature.

Sleeping in Turin in your school trip

Italy is the 5th most visited country in the world, but Torino is yet to be discovered by most tourists. So you can find a real Italian town. big enough to have many things to do, not too big or overcrowded like the most famous cities like Rome, Florence or Venice.

  • Venice has long been under pressure, with daily visitor numbers often higher than the resident population.

  • Rome and Florence are always packed, leaving many travelers frustrated.

Why choosing Turin and the Alps

Turin offers a unique school trip experience by combining a rich, accessible city culture with immediate access to the stunning Italian Alps. It’s an educational two-for-one destination.

1. Compact Cultural Powerhouse:

  • History Alive: Walk Roman ruins, explore the palaces of Italy’s first capital, and dive into the incredible Egyptian Museum (second only to Cairo).

  • Science & Industry: Engage with interactive science museums, the brilliant National Cinema Museum, and the history of automotive innovation at the FIAT factory site.

2. Unbeatable Access to the Alps & Nature:
This is Turin’s secret weapon. Within a short drive, your classroom becomes the great outdoors and we can help you organizing your school trip in the Alps with our team.

  • The Alps as a Classroom: A quick trip transforms your lesson into a hands-on geography and environmental science field trip. Study glacial formations, alpine ecosystems, and sustainability firsthand.

    • Stunning Viewpoints: Hiking up Sacra di San Michele can be an amazing day hike with the kids exploring a 1000 years old building with an amazing view of the Alps.

    • Water and glaciers: The west alps were created by huge glaciers and it is possible to explore the sign of the glaciers just around Turin.

    • In a nutshell: Turin is the ideal choice for a school trip that wants the culture of a major European city paired with the unmatched natural laboratory of the Italian Alps.
